Situated between Barcelona and the French border, the Empordà region is one of the most enchanting areas in Catalonia with a character that sets it apart from anywhere else in Spain. The Mediterranean woodlands, the beautiful secluded beaches of the Costa Brava and the natural beauty of the Empordà region, with its rolling meadows and plunging pine-clad cliffs make this an idyllic setting all year round.
It is the birthplace of some of the most important artists of our time, such as Dalí and Lluís Llach, and the place where many intellectuals and artists have settled and contributed to the cosmopolitan and cultured reputation that the Empordà enjoys today. Close to Mas de Torrent, the family home of the great Empordà writer Josep Pla still stands, and you will also find the castle at Púbol, a gift from Dalí to his wife Gala.
